Privacy Policy — Formidable
1. Data collected by the app
1.1 Data stored locally only
The following data is stored exclusively on your device using
AsyncStorage (UserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android):
- Favourite affirmations (identifiers only)
- Mood history (date + one label out of 5)
- Gratitude journal (free text you write yourself)
- Breathing history (date + boolean)
- Intentions of the day (date + one label out of 6)
- Preferences (notification time, theme, widget, integrations, optional consents)
- Streak counter and milestones reached
This data is:
- never transmitted to a server
- never shared with third parties
- never used for advertising purposes
- deleted in full when you uninstall the app
1.2 Anonymous technical data (optional)
Two third-party services may be used to improve app quality. They are disabled by default. You can enable or disable each at any time in Settings → Privacy (two separate toggles). Changes take effect immediately, without restarting the app.

If the environment variables for these services are not configured (local build, open-source fork), both services are entirely disabled — no network calls are made.
1.3 Apple Health (optional, iOS only)
If you enable the Apple Health integration in Settings → Apple Health:
- Read: we read sleep, steps and mindful minutes to compute correlations in your Insights. Values stay local — never transmitted.
- Write: your mood check-ins may be written to Apple Health (Mind category) if your iPhone supports this API. You can revoke the permission in iOS Settings → Privacy → Health.
All Apple Health data remains on your device.
2. Permissions requested

No other permissions (camera, microphone, contacts, location, advertising identifiers…) are requested.

In compliance with Apple's requirement in force since May 2024, the app declares the use of the

3. Your rights (GDPR)
Since no personal data leaves your device, most GDPR rights are exercised directly in the app:

4. Security
- Local storage is not encrypted at the app level; encryption is managed by iOS/Android at the OS level when the user has enabled device lock.
- No personal data is transmitted over the network.
- Source code is proprietary.
5. Children
The app is rated 4+. No personal data is collected. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before using the app.
6. Changes to this policy
Any change to this policy will be published at this URL and notified in the app via a startup message. The current version is dated at the top of this document.

Annexe A — Version française abrégée
Formidable ne collecte pas tes données personnelles. Toutes tes données de bien-être restent sur ton téléphone. Deux services tiers optionnels (Sentry, PostHog) peuvent collecter des données techniques anonymes si tu les actives dans Réglages → Confidentialité.
